About Trusted Local Contractors
Alex Colombo, Founder
Westchester County resident and electronics technician. I work with complex systems every day and got tired of watching friends and neighbors get burned by shady contractors. So I built this directory using real data from Google Business Profiles to make finding a local contractor less of a gamble.

Finding a good contractor shouldn't feel like a gamble. I built Trusted Local Contractors because I saw the same problem over and over: homeowners in Westchester, Fairfield, Rockland, and Putnam counties had no reliable way to compare local contractors without wading through national directories full of irrelevant listings.
How We Source Listings
Listings on this site are built from public business profile data and contractor submissions. Where available, we show ratings, review counts, websites, phone numbers, and service areas so homeowners can do faster first-pass research. We don't fabricate reviews.
Here's what we look for when deciding whether a listing is useful enough to show prominently:
- Public business profile with a real business name, phone number, and service area
- Ratings and review counts from public business profile data when available
- Service area fit based on the towns and counties associated with the listing
- Quality signals such as website, review volume, and enough detail to be useful
What We Cover
We list thousands of contractors across 20 trade categories and 100+ towns in four counties. Whether you need a roofer in New Rochelle, a plumber in Stamford, or an electrician in Nyack, the goal is to make the local options easier to compare before you start calling around.
Why Local Matters
National directories like Angi and Thumbtack cast a wide net. That means you end up sifting through contractors who technically "serve" your area but are based an hour away. We focus on four counties in the lower Hudson Valley and Fairfield County because a smaller geographic focus means better, more relevant results.
We know the building codes in Westchester are different from Fairfield. We know that a roofer dealing with salt air in Stamford faces different challenges than one working in Peekskill. That local knowledge shapes how we organize and present contractor information.
Always Free for Homeowners
Searching, comparing, and contacting contractors is completely free. We don't sell your information to contractors, and we don't charge you to see ratings or phone numbers. When you call a contractor from our site, you're calling them directly.
